Penyambutan Mahasiswa Baru Tahun Akademik 2021/2022

Politeknik Statistika STIS Welcomes New Students for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. After completing the New Student Admission Selection Process (SPMB), Politeknik Statistika STIS officially held its Welcoming Ceremony for New Students of the 2021/2022 Academic Year on Monday (August 16). The event was conducted online via Zoom Meeting and moderated by Siskarossa Ika Oktora, SST, M.Stat. It served as a platform for the new students of Class 63 and their parents/guardians to get acquainted with the Director, academic officials, and structural leaders at Politeknik Statistika STIS. This event also marked the beginning of their introduction to campus life and academic activities.

Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, M.Math., Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, officially welcomed the new students and delivered an overview of the institution’s education system and academic activities. Her presentation included the campus location and environment, the history of the institution’s establishment, the educational system, organizational structure, study programs, facilities and infrastructure, expected student input and output quality, and career prospects for graduates. She also emphasized that graduates of Politeknik Statistika STIS will be directly appointed as civil servants at Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) and assigned to provincial or district/city BPS offices across Indonesia.

As a government-affiliated higher education institution, Politeknik Statistika STIS emphasizes not only academic excellence but also non-academic values such as character development and discipline. Consequently, character-related aspects are also considered in evaluating student performance. The Director also highlighted the importance of compliance with institutional rules and regulations, which have been acknowledged by both students and their parents/guardians.

In her address, she expressed hope for the resumption of face-to-face lectures in the near future. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the fact that not all students had been vaccinated, the upcoming semester would continue to be held online.

In addition to introducing the academic environment, students and their parents/guardians were also introduced to academic and structural officials, many of whom will directly interact with the students in their academic journey. They were also presented with a summary of student achievements over the past three years, in both academic and non-academic fields. These achievements were intended to inspire the new students to pursue excellence and express their interests and talents through various student activity units.

At the conclusion of the event, the Director encouraged the new students to stay motivated in their studies and personal development in order to complete their education smoothly and graduate on time. She also encouraged parents and guardians to actively support and monitor their children’s academic journey.
