On Sunday (May 5), students of Politeknik Statistika STIS proudly achieved victories at the 2024 National Polytechnic Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQPN). MTQPN is a national Qur'an recitation competition for polytechnic students, focusing on mujawwad recitation and proper tilawah etiquette to promote Islamic values. The 2024 MTQPN was organized by the Student Affairs Coordination Agency through Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Pangkajene Kepulauan, aiming to nurture students’ potential in religious outreach and strengthen their love for the Qur’an under the theme “Strengthening Polytechnics through Qur’anic Education.”

This year’s MTQPN featured three competition categories:

1. Tartil (male and female)
2. Tilawah (male and female)
3. Islamic Speech (male and female)

Politeknik Statistika STIS sent 10 students to participate in MTQPN 2024. The competition began on March 4 and was held online, consisting of a preliminary round and a final. In the preliminary round, participants were required to upload their competition videos to YouTube and submit the video links through the official website of Politeknik Pangkajene Kepulauan for judging. The finalists were then selected to compete live via Zoom.

The preliminary round results were announced on April 12, 2024, through the official website of Politeknik Negeri Pangkajene Kepulauan. Two students from Politeknik Statistika STIS advanced to the finals in the Tartil and Tilawah categories. The final round was held virtually via Zoom on April 27–28, 2024.

The final results were officially announced on May 5, 2024, coinciding with the closing ceremony of MTQPN 2024. The achievements of Politeknik Statistika STIS are as follows:

1. 1st Place, Tilawah (Female) – Thayyib Category: Hikmawati Ahmad (1ST7)
2. 3rd Place, Tartil (Male) – Al-Aghani wa Naghamat Category: M. Fikri Khaikal (1ST5)
