The Field Work Internship (PKL) Team from Politeknik Statistika STIS presented the results of their 2019/2020 Academic Year internship to the Board of Trustees online on Friday (September 18th). The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Statistics Indonesia (BPS), as well as the leadership and lecturers of Politeknik Statistika STIS . Also in attendance were the leadership of the Provincial Statistics Agency (BPS) and the leadership of the Regency/City Statistics Agency (BPS) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The meeting aimed to present and discuss the internship results, which will be presented to the DIY government in a PKL Results Webinar.

At the beginning of the session, the PKL Team from the Diploma IV Study Program presented the results of their research on village potential, which developed the Village Potential System (SIPODES). SIPODES incorporates innovations, including the independent Podes data collection system and the One Village Data Portal (PSDD) for Podes data dissemination. Furthermore, research findings related to the SDGs, specifically the environmental pillar, were presented, focusing on achieving global indicators for the environmental pillar at the provincial and sub-district levels. Research findings on the digital economy were also presented. This research provides an alternative measurement of the digital economy and its impact on employment. Research on the environmental pillars of the SDGs and the digital economy is expected to enrich the information available in the PSDD. The methodology used during the internship was a rapid and conventional method for conducting household surveys. The application of Big Data as a probing variable/indicator in the Village Survey (Podes), the environmental pillar of the SDGs, and E-Commerce was also among the research presented at the meeting. The internship team from the Diploma III study program presented their research results related to Sakernas and Paradata in supporting one of the SDGs (realizing decent work for all).

The BPS leadership expressed their appreciation for the internship results, as they were deemed marketable and could be replicated by other regions. The leadership also hoped that the internship results could be implemented in BPS's work, particularly in related subject matters. Furthermore, input was provided regarding monitoring the utilization of the internship results. The leadership of the Yogyakarta Provincial Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Yogyakarta Regency/City Statistics Agency (BPS) also expressed positive comments and appreciation for the PKL results presented. They hope these PKL results will be immediately submitted to the Yogyakarta government. The Yogyakarta government hopes that the potential data can be promptly updated so that it can be used as a basis for regional development policymaking.

The input and suggestions provided to the PKL Team by all BPS leaders serve as notes for the PKL team to refine their presentation before presenting to the Yogyakarta government and also serve as input for future PKL implementations. (Choirul Ummah_59)
