600 Students Graduate in STIS Statistics Polytechnic’s 2021 Online Graduation Ceremony. The Politeknik Statistika STIS held its 2021 graduation ceremony virtually on August 19 via the Zoom Meeting platform, continuing its commitment to celebrating academic milestones amid the ongoing pandemic. The event honored the graduates of the 24th and 32nd cohorts of the Diploma IV Program and the 32nd cohort of the Diploma III Program in a heartfelt atmosphere filled with emotion and joy.

A total of 600 students were officially declared graduates based on Decree No. 081819 of 2021, issued by the Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS. The decree, which outlined the results of the final exams for the 2020/2021 Academic Year, was read by Dr. Hardius Usman, M.Si., Deputy Director I. The graduating students included:

• 423 from the Diploma IV Program in Statistics,
• 107 from the Diploma IV Program in Statistical Computing, and
• 70 from the Diploma III Program in Statistics.

During the ceremony, the heads of each study program announced the average GPA and top graduates. Recognition was also given to graduates with honors, with distinctions awarded to:

• 7 students from the Diploma III Program,
• 31 students from the Diploma IV Program in Statistics, and
• 5 students from the Diploma IV Program in Statistical Computing.

The evaluation of students extended beyond academic achievement to include non-academic criteria, such as organizational involvement, committee participation, and both on-campus and off-campus accomplishments. These were consolidated into five assessment aspects: leadership, individual competence, social skills, interest and talent development, and discipline. These holistic evaluations identified three outstanding final-year students with the highest IPKM scores, recognizing their character and contributions.

In her remarks, Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, M.Math., Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, expressed pride in the students’ perseverance and accomplishments. She acknowledged the pivotal role of information technology in ensuring the continuity of education during the pandemic, despite various challenges such as unstable internet access, limited resources, and the complexities of remote thesis supervision. “Despite the obstacles, our students have shown resilience and commitment,” she said, noting the absence of campus vibrancy due to the lack of physical student presence.

Dr. Erni also encouraged the graduates to remain humble and continue using their knowledge in service to the nation.

Student representatives also shared reflections during the ceremony. Ferdiansyah, from the Diploma III Program, stated,

“Today is a joyous day for me and my fellow graduates. Everything we’ve endured has taught us the value of perseverance. Completing our thesis online was no easy feat. We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to our journey at STIS. As the saying goes, if you enjoy the journey, the destination will arrive sooner. For me, these three years passed in the blink of an eye because I enjoyed every step.”

Meanwhile, Iqbal Mukti Pratama, representing the Diploma IV Program, shared an inspiring message:

“From every challenge we faced, we learned that we are capable of overcoming anything. Now, as we enter the workforce, let us reignite our passion and remember that success follows those who never give up.”
