Various expressions adorned the faces of prospective graduates of the Politeknik Statistika STIS for the 2019/2020 Academic Year during the graduation ceremony or graduation announcement held on Tuesday (4/8). Unlike previous years, this year the Politeknik Statistika STIS held the graduation ceremony for the 11th batch of Diploma III Program students and the 23rd batch of Diploma IV Program students online via Zoom Meeting due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the Decree of the Director of the Politeknik Statistika STIS Number 080416 of 2020, read by Deputy Director I (Dr. Hardius Usman, M.Si), 98.6 percent of final-year students were declared to have graduated, with a highest GPA of 3.89 and an average GPA of 3.28. The Heads of each Study Program, both the Diploma IV Program (Statistics and Statistical Computing) and the Diploma III Statistics Program, also read the names of the top graduating students, but without providing a ranking. The top rankings will be announced during the upcoming graduation ceremony.

Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, M. Math., Director of the Politeknik Statistika STIS , representing the entire Politeknik Statistika STIS academic community, expressed her appreciation for all the graduates have overcome. The pandemic has brought many changes to campus life, not only the learning process but also the series of thesis/final project guidance, seminars and defenses, the graduation ceremony, and even the graduation ceremony, which must be conducted remotely. This has admittedly not been easy. There's a sense of emptiness and a void due to the absence of joyful student activities. "There's a humanistic side missing, especially during thesis/final project defenses. We as lecturers no longer see the joyful expressions and screams, and the requests for selfies from students after the defense. There are no longer students queuing outside the room to request signatures to validate their finalized theses/final projects. We feel the loss of that momentum," added the Director of the Politeknik Statistika STIS , drawing emotion from the graduation participants. He also expressed his hope that the graduates would maintain their personal qualities and fulfill the promises they made in their Civil Service Agreements at the beginning of their studies three or four years ago as a form of service to the nation.

"Although our friends are no longer with us, I hope all your hard work and struggles, from MP2K until today, will be a blessing in every step you take," said M. Farhan Robbani, representing the students.

Congratulations to our final year graduates! Happy serving the nation!
