62nd Graduation Ceremony of STIS Statistics Polytechnic

Jakarta, August 31, 2024 – The 62nd Graduation Ceremony of 2024 was officially held at the Auditorium of Politeknik Statistika STIS, marking the completion of studies for graduates of the 45th batch of the Diploma III Program and the 27th batch of the Diploma IV Program. The event was divided into two sessions and attended by the academic community, parents/guardians of the graduates, and distinguished guests from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and related institutions.

The first session was held for graduates of the Diploma III in Statistics and Diploma IV in Statistical Computing, while the second session was for graduates of the Diploma IV in Statistics.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, M.Math, Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, reported that 677 out of 691 students were declared graduated, with a graduation rate of 97.97%. The graduates consisted of:

  • 170 from the Diploma IV in Statistical Computing program,
  • 345 from the Diploma IV in Statistics program, and
  • 162 from the Diploma III in Statistics program.

Among the 677 graduates, 3 were on study assignments.

Top Graduates and Non-Academic Achievements

Dr. Erni also announced the top three graduates from each study program, selected based on their highest GPA, cum laude predicate, and certified competency from the Professional Certification Institute. The top graduates are:

  • Statistical Computing (Diploma IV):
  1. Maria Shawna Cinnamon Claire
  2. Ahmad Faqih Pratama
  3. Imam Hadi Susanto
  • Statistics (Diploma IV):
  1. Arya Candra Kusuma
  2. Asy-Syaja'ul Haqqul Amin
  3. Apriliani Nur Rohmah
  • Statistics (Diploma III):
  1. Dicki Prayogi
  2. Komang Diva Mas Nugraha
  3. Dhafa Nabila Adilyas and Syarifah Annisa Assegaf

In addition, Fajar Malik Noor Ahmad from the Diploma III in Statistics program was awarded the Best Student Character Achievement Index, in recognition of his exemplary character throughout his studies.

Messages from BPS RI and National Figures

Acting Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Ph.D., delivered congratulations to the graduates and encouraged them to apply the knowledge they gained in their future service at BPS. She emphasized the importance of adaptability in the workplace, honoring one’s parents, and staying up-to-date with current developments.

"The future of BPS lies in the hands of the younger generation, including the STIS graduates who are graduating today," she said.

The event also featured a scientific oration by the Principal Secretary of BPS RI, Dr. Eng. Imam Machdi, M.T., who highlighted the importance of data in decision-making and called for collaboration among all stakeholders to produce accurate and high-quality data. He also discussed BPS’s role in the Regional Hubs on Big Data and Data Science, where Indonesia serves as one of the innovation and collaboration centers in statistical development based on big data and data science.

A congratulatory video message from the Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), Abdullah Azwar Anas, was also presented. “Congratulations to all graduates. You are the frontliners in providing accurate analyses for better public policies,” said Abdullah.

Closing: A Gateway to Service

This graduation marks not only the culmination of a long academic journey but also the beginning of a new chapter in professional life. With the knowledge and character developed during their studies, graduates are expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of national statistics and the development of Indonesia.
