61st Graduation Ceremony of Diploma III Program Class XLIV and Diploma IV Program Class XXVI

A wave of pride and heartfelt joy filled Otista, East Jakarta, on Saturday (September 2) as Politeknik Statistika STIS held its 61st graduation ceremony. The event marked a significant milestone for students of the Diploma III Class XLIV and Diploma IV Class XXVI programs. The ceremony took place solemnly at the STIS Auditorium and was attended not only by members of the Student Senate and academic community but also by the Acting Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), high-ranking BPS officials, the Chairperson of the HAISTIS alumni association, and proud families of the graduates.

The ceremony began with the academic procession of the Student Senate and High-Level Management, entering the auditorium to the accompaniment of Maju Indonesia performed by Excelsior. The Open Senate Session was officially inaugurated with the sounding of a gavel by Senate Chair Dr. I Made Arcana, M.Sc.

In her address, the Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, M.Math., highlighted the outstanding performance of the graduating class. A total of 486 students under service contracts and 1 student on study assignment were declared as graduates. She expressed deep appreciation for those achieving the highest GPAs. In the Diploma IV Statistical Computing program, Zulhan Andika Asyraf (Data Science specialization) achieved a GPA of 3.86, while Denisa Hilmy Atiqah (Information Systems specialization) achieved 3.76. For the Diploma IV Statistics program, Maziyyatul Mufiedah (Population Statistics specialization) earned 3.75, and Syaikhul ‘Ibad (Socioeconomic Statistics specialization) achieved 3.87. The highest overall GPA was achieved by Deva Atika from the Diploma III program with 3.92. Notably, Munifah Zuhra Almasah was honored as the Best Non-Academic Graduate, highlighting the institution's commitment to character development alongside academic achievement.

In her report, Dr. Erni emphasized the importance of perseverance and learning amidst limitations, particularly during the pandemic. She extended gratitude to the graduates' families for their continuous support and encouraged graduates to contribute significantly to realizing BPS's vision and mission. "You now carry the responsibility to advance national statistics and apply your knowledge for the betterment of Indonesia," she stated.

Ir. Atqo Mardiyanto, M.Si., Principal Secretary of BPS RI, also delivered remarks, reminding graduates of the challenges they had overcome and how these experiences shaped them into resilient individuals. He emphasized their role as future leaders of BPS, capable of bringing change to the workforce and public service. He encouraged them to uphold cultural values and act wisely in Indonesia’s diverse societal landscape.

The event concluded with a scientific oration by Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Ph.D., Deputy for Economic Affairs at Bappenas and Acting Head of BPS RI. She highlighted the importance of adaptability in the digital economy era and the duty of civil servants (ASN) to deliver high-quality public services. She underscored the core values of ASN—BerAkhlak: Service-Oriented, Accountable, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative. According to her, public servants must be creative, innovative, and committed to data integrity and national service. She encouraged lifelong learning, stating, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you must start to be great.”

This 61st graduation ceremony marks not an end, but a new beginning for STIS graduates to contribute to national progress through statistical excellence. Congratulations to all graduates—may you be the seeds of hope that bring positive change to Indonesia’s future.
