Joy radiated from the faces of the Polstat STIS graduates on Saturday (August 24th). A total of 564 students were officially declared graduates by the Director of Polstat STIS, Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, M.Math., through a graduation ceremony. For the first time, the graduation ceremony, held in the Polstat STIS Auditorium, was divided into two sessions. The morning session was for 407 graduates of the DIV Statistics Study Program and was attended by Professor of Statistics from IPB, Prof. Dr. Khairil A. Notodiputro. Meanwhile, the afternoon session was for 75 graduates of the DIV Statistical Computation Study Program and 82 graduates of the DIII Statistics Study Program. On this occasion, a scientific oration was delivered by Prof. Akhmad Fauzy, Professor of Statistics at UII. The theme raised by both speakers was also the same: "Challenges for Statisticians in the Future: A Thought for Welcoming the Industrial Era 5.0."

In addition to presenting the two statistics figures, the event was also attended by the leaders of BPS and Polstat STIS. In his report, the Director of Polstat STIS also congratulated the graduates for paying off all the struggles and hard work in studying at the Otista 64C campus. "The roots of education are bitter, but the fruits are sweet," he quoted. In addition, the top three highest GPAs for each study program and interest were read out. The highest GPAs for the DIV Statistics Study Program were achieved by Catherina Dwi Puspita for the economic statistics interest and I Wayan Krisnandita for the social and population statistics interest. Meanwhile, the highest GPAs for the DIV Statistical Computing study program were achieved by Ignatius Sandyawan and the DIII Statistics study program by Julio Christian Wadu Doko. Furthermore, the highest IPKM (Student Personality Assessment Index) was also mentioned, namely Dede Yoga Paramartha. Echoing the sentiment expressed by the Director of Polstat STIS, Dr. Suhariyanto, Head of BPS RI, also congratulated the graduates in his remarks. Addressing the parents, he advised the graduates to never stop learning and to continue their studies, even to the point of earning a professorship. In addition to fulfilling their mandate as BPS employees, they should also set aside time for study, in line with the President of the Republic of Indonesia's vision and mission of realizing a smart civil servant (ASN).

In the scientific oration session, Prof. Dr. Khairil A. Notodiputro explained that future industrial developments will impact the world of statistics. Industry 4.0 and 5.0 demonstrate the rapid advancement of technology. As aspiring statisticians, Polstat STIS graduates must be prepared to face these challenges. He also advised them to continually learn to embrace diversity and maintain tolerance. As he put it, "there is no statistics without variance." This sentiment was further supported by Prof. Akhmad Fauzy's presentation in the second session. Interspersed with engaging jokes, he also explained the rapid technological developments related to statistics. "Maybe in 15 years, a door to soulmates will be created, so we can enter any criteria, and that door will connect us to our soulmates," which was immediately greeted by laughter from the audience.

Congratulations to the graduates, congratulations on taking this new step, and prepare to serve the country!
