Description :Politeknik Statistika STIS held a public lecture themed “Behavioral & Experimental Economics” on Friday (25/2), featuring Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Juanda, MS., a Professor from IPB, as the speaker. This online event was attended by final-year students, lecturers, and academic staff, and was opened by Dr. Hardius Usman, M.Si., who emphasized the importance of enriching knowledge beyond the curriculum. The speaker explained the fundamental differences between surveys, which are passive in nature, and experiments, which are active and analytical, noting that experiments require designs involving treatment, environment, and measurement, with the application of induced-value theory. He also highlighted the benefits of experimental economics in testing theories and evaluating policies, although it still faces the challenge of the status quo that views economics as a non-experimental science.
