Description :On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the STIS Statistics Polytechnic held a public lecture at the Auditorium of the STIS Polstat campus. This event presented Jacqui Vitas as the General Manager of Economics, Environment, and Executive Sponsor of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) as a speaker, and was accompanied by the Lecturer of the STIS Statistics Polytechnic, Dr. Ribut Nurul Tri Wahyuni, SST, MSE as a moderator. This event took place with high enthusiasm from all participants.
In the public lecture entitled "Looking Inside National Accounts", Jacqui highlighted that there is no internationally supported framework for measuring/managing the quality of non-survey data. In that case, to produce a series of high-quality economic statistics, a standard classification and framework are needed as a supporting foundation.
In addition to the presentation of the material, a question and answer session was also included which received active responses from the participants. A series of public lecture agendas today provided new insights regarding national data processing, especially in the field of economic statistics.
By holding this public lecture, it is hoped that the participants as prospective national statisticians can contribute by providing innovation in improving data quality for the welfare of society.
