Workshop Kurikulum Program Vokasi di Era Disrupsi dan Kampus Merdeka serta Sertifikasi Profesi

Politeknik Statistika STIS, in collaboration with the Indonesian Statisticians Association (ISI) and the Statistics Higher Education Forum (Forstat), successfully held a virtual workshop on the theme "Vocational Program Curriculum in the Era of Disruption and Independent Campus" and "Professional Certification" on Saturday (August 8th). The workshop, moderated by Avi Rudianita Widya, SST, was held via Zoom and livestreamed on Politeknik Statistika STIS YouTube channel.

Dr. Hardius Usman, Chair of the Committee, reported that the workshop's Zoom participation reached 124 lecturers and teaching staff from Indonesian universities. The opening remarks were delivered by the Chair of Forstat, Dr. Suhartono, followed by the Chair of ISI, Dr. Margo Yuwono, who officially opened the virtual workshop. The Chair of ISI hopes that the workshop will lead to consensus on graduate learning outcomes and the courses offered in vocational programs.

The first presentation entitled “Vocational Program Curriculum in the Era of Disruption” was delivered by Prof. Dr. Sukestiyarno from Semarang State University and moderated by Dr. Mukhsar from Halu Oleo University. The speaker stated that there are three challenges in the world of education in the current era of technological disruption, namely curriculum (revolutionizing conventional curriculum), learning (educators must change strategies), and assessment (reflecting the actual results). The dimensions and characteristics that must be possessed in Millennial Education are the Learning Dimension (place and time are not limitations), the Professional Dimension (old professions are no longer considered relevant so that new professions need to be prepared), the New Literacy Dimension (starting from data and ICT literacy, technological literacy to human and cultural literacy), the Skills Dimension (Millennial Leadership & Entrepreneurship Softskills) and the Character Dimension (Integrity, Nationalism, and Environmental Sensitivity). In this millennial 4.0 era, new strategies are needed for the existing curriculum, ranging from curriculum reorientation, changing or aligning the learning process, updating lecturers' skills and competencies, developing new knowledge and professions, and restructuring the 4.0 vocational school curriculum. The proposed courses for the Diploma III Statistics program, proposed by the speakers, include a focus on foundational subjects in semesters 1 and 2, with basic statistical theories introduced in semesters 3 and 4. Semesters 5 and 6 will focus on data mining, data science, and information systems and engineering.

Dr. Erni Tri Astuti, M.Math., Secretary of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (ISI) and Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, presented the second session, entitled "Independent Campus Vocational Program Curriculum (Diploma III and IV)" and moderated by Dr. Wahyu Wibowo from ITS. In accordance with the concept of Independent Learning – Independent Campus, Higher Education Institutions (PT) have a role to facilitate students' rights to study outside the PT/Study Program for a maximum of 3 semesters (60 credits). The Faculty or Study Program plays an active role in preparing a list of courses that can be taken and compiling a curriculum by conducting equivalence of courses with learning activities outside the PT/Study Program. Meanwhile, students themselves play a role in registering and participating in programs outside the Study Program in accordance with the provisions. Learning activities outside the Study Program have eight forms, namely student exchange, internship/work practice, teaching assistance, research/research, humanitarian projects, entrepreneurial activities, Thematic KKN, and independent study/projects. Independent Learning – Independent Campus activities can be in the form of Enrichment Courses, PKL, and Internships. The resource person proposed that Forstat become a student exchange facilitator so that all Forstat member PTs can conduct learning exchange programs between Forstat member PTs. PTs offer Enrichment Courses that can be taken by students from other PTs and carry out online learning. Dr. Erni also proposed that ISI act as a facilitator between universities and the Provincial/District Statistics Agency (BPS) for student statistics internships. The weighting of internships is divided into free-form, structured, and hybrid forms.

In addition to discussing the vocational curriculum, this workshop also presented a presentation on Professional Certification, delivered by a Competency Assessor, Arum Handini Primandari, M.Sc., from the Islamic University of Indonesia, and moderated by Naomi Nessyana Debataraja, M.Sc., from Tanjungpura University. This third presentation was titled "BNSP Certification Opportunity Program in Statistics." BNSP (National Professional Certification Agency) is the institution authorized to grant certification authority. An assessor has the competence and is officially assigned to conduct and provide assessments in competency tests that require professional consideration or justification. The speaker stated that our current major task is to create

The legal umbrella is the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) in Statistics. This certification serves as a guarantee to the workforce that statistics graduates possess the specific competencies required to become statisticians. This certification aims to prepare statistics graduates for entry into the workforce in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

The event continued with a discussion on the formulation of a minimum curriculum, moderated by Dr. Dony Permana from Padang State University. The discussion and Q&A session proceeded smoothly, with high enthusiasm from the workshop participants. (Faturrokhman_60)
