The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Visited Politeknik Statistika STIS: to Value the Role of Data and Promote Quality Education and Transparency in Selection.

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPANRB), Abdullah Azwar Anas, paid an official visit to Politeknik Statistika STIS, Jakarta. The visit coincided with the first day of the 2024 New Student Admission Selection (SPMB) and aimed to review the campus's readiness in conducting the selection process.
In his speech at the Auditorium of Politeknik Statistika STIS, Minister Anas expressed his appreciation for the contribution of Politeknik Statistika STIS as an educational institution that produces high-quality human resources in the field of statistics. He emphasized that Politeknik Statistika STIS serves as a "breeding ground for state servants" who play a crucial role in ensuring data accuracy, which is fundamental in formulating public policies and addressing national issues.

Minister Anas also pointed out that the quality of applicants is paramount, even though the number of admissions for government-affiliated schools has decreased this year. For 2024, Politeknik Statistika STIS has opened 355 new student admission slots.
Acting Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, also expressed her gratitude for the support of the Ministry in fulfilling the national statistical human resource needs through the approved student quota for Politeknik Statistika STIS in the 2024 fiscal year. She warmly welcomed Minister Anas and recognized Politeknik Statistika STIS as a campus that produces data providers of the highest quality. According to her, the strategic role of Politeknik Statistika STIS in developing competent human resources in statistics is essential for supporting national development in this digital era.
Minister Anas further emphasized the importance of Politeknik Statistika STIS in advancing the nation through data management. He stated, “Politeknik Statistika STIS is the first government-affiliated school we visited because we believe that this institution, under the supervision of BPS, holds a strategic position. These students will become pioneers in advancing the nation through data.”
He reiterated that data plays a crucial role in shaping effective policies. Therefore, strong synergy across all levels of government is needed to ensure optimal integration in data management and evidence-based policy-making. Politeknik Statistika STIS is regarded not only as an educational institution but also as a center for cultivating future leaders who will contribute to national advancement through the strategic and accurate use of data.
In response to the visit, prospective students of Politeknik Statistika STIS were encouraged to give their best throughout the selection process, which will be conducted transparently, accountably, and under strict supervision. Thus, Minister Anas's visit to Politeknik Statistika STIS not only underscored the quality of education and preparation for new student selection but also reaffirmed the importance of transparency and excellence in fulfilling educational duties.
