Politeknik Statistika STIS and Kampar Regency Government Establish Strategic Cooperation

Thursday, November 14, 2024 — Politeknik Statistika STIS has officially entered into a partnership with the Government of Kampar Regency through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering education, research, community service, and human resource development. The event was held solemnly and attended by key officials from both parties.
From the Kampar Regency Government, the event was attended by the Acting Regent of Kampar, Mr. Hambali, SE., MH., MBA, along with his entourage, including the Assistant I and III, Regional Secretary, Chairperson of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), Head of the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), and other government officials. Representing Politeknik Statistika STIS was its Director, Mrs. Erni Tri Astuti, accompanied by other members of the management team.
In her remarks, the Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, Mrs. Erni Tri Astuti, emphasized the importance of this collaboration as a strategic step to develop high-quality human resources, especially in the field of official statistics. “Through the scholarship-based recruitment program (pola pembibitan), STIS graduates will support local governments, particularly in producing accurate sectoral statistics,” she stated.
This partnership is also expected to strengthen the synergy between educational institutions and local governments. Mrs. Erni emphasized that the collaboration aligns with the mission of Politeknik Statistika STIS in fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: teaching, research, and community service. “We are optimistic that this synergy will bring great benefits to the people of Kampar Regency,” she added.

In his speech, Acting Regent of Kampar, Mr. Hambali, expressed high appreciation for the establishment of this partnership. He highlighted the importance of sectoral statistics as a foundation for planning and decision-making at the regional government level. “The Kampar Regency Government strongly supports the concept of data-driven or evidence-based policy. However, we are currently facing challenges due to the limited number of human resources in the field of statistics,” he said.
This collaboration also opens significant opportunities for the youth of Kampar Regency to pursue their education at Politeknik Statistika STIS through the scholarship-based recruitment program. Starting in 2025, Kampar Regency will be able to propose quotas for the D4 in Applied Statistics and D4 in Statistical Computing programs.
Mr. Hambali stressed that this collaboration is part of a long-term effort to enhance the government's capacity in data management, which in turn will contribute to public welfare. He also expressed optimism that this partnership could serve as a model for other regions. With the spirit of collaboration already established, this step is expected to mark the beginning of many more joint programs that will bring positive impacts on development and public service in Kampar Regency.
