Politeknik Statistika STIS has once again demonstrated its commitment to developing high-quality human resources through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The event, held on Friday, December 27, 2024, marked a significant milestone in efforts to enhance the capacity of Human Resources within the Regional Government through the Pola Pembibitan (Scholarship and Recruitment Program) mechanism.

This collaboration aims to open a special pathway for the best sons and daughters of Indragiri Hilir Regency to pursue education at Politeknik Statistika STIS. These students are expected to become professional statisticians who will contribute to managing sectoral statistical data in the region. The Director of Politeknik Statistika STIS, Erni Tri Astuti, expressed great hope for this collaboration. She explained that the Pola Pembibitan Mahasiswa program offers a strategic opportunity for regional governments to develop excellent statistical personnel.

In her speech, Ms. Erni emphasized the importance of synergy between higher education institutions and regional governments. She stated that graduates of Politeknik Statistika STIS are equipped with expertise in Data Science and Data Analysis, making them highly capable of supporting local governments in effective data management. Ms. Erni also hoped that this cooperation would serve as a solid starting point for building more structured and integrated sectoral data management in Indragiri Hilir Regency.

The Acting Regent of Indragiri Hilir Regency, H. Erisman Yahya, warmly welcomed this partnership. He explained that Indragiri Hilir has a vast territory and significant economic potential. However, one of the main challenges is the lack of qualified statistical personnel and the incomplete management of existing data. He emphasized that the presence of competent statisticians is an urgent need to support data-driven regional development.

Furthermore, Erisman expressed his hope that through the Pola Pembibitan Mahasiswa program, the local government can produce a young generation that will become reliable in the field of statistics. He believes that graduates from Politeknik Statistika STIS will have a significant impact on development planning in Indragiri Hilir Regency.
