Data Science Enthusiast Politeknik Statistika STIS (Descent STIS) is a community or forum for Polstat STIS students who have the desire to develop their talents and interests in the field of Data Science. This community was initiated by Polstat STIS students class of 57 with the aim of recruiting and empowering Polstat STIS students to become more familiar with Data Science.

Description of STIS 4.0 Statistics Polytechnic Descent Community Activities

• National Webinar with the theme "Discovery Through Machine Learning With CNN And Clustering Mixed Data For Beginners"
  This webinar is a form of community service activities by Descent Politektik Statistika STIS. As a national webinar, this webinar is open to the public and the discussion also targets an audience at the beginner level. This webinar was held on December 19, 2020 with speakers from BPS employees, Candra Dian Purnawanto, and lecturers from the STIS Politeknik Statistika, Rani Nooraeni. The topics raised were Utilization of CNN for Official Statistics and Clustering Mixed Data (data with various measurement scales).
• Descent Bootcamp 2021
  Descent Bootcamp 2021 is a series of data science training consisting of ten trainings. This training was held from February to August 2021 with the target audience being students and alumni of the STIS Statistics Polytechnic. The training was held using a curriculum that had been prepared by the Descent Knowledge Management Team. In this bootcamp event, the theme raised was Makes The World a Better Place with Data Science.
• Descent 3.0 Webinar with the theme “Explore The Data, See The Insights”
  This webinar is an activity held to commemorate the third anniversary of Descent which was founded on October 6, 2018. This webinar is specifically for students of the STIS Statistics Polytechnic. This webinar was held on October 30, 2021 with speakers from BPS employees, Dhiar Niken Larasati and Achmad Fauzi Bagus Firmansyah. The topics raised were Big Data Potential for the Future of BPS and Statistics and Machine Learning.
• Open House 2021
  Open House is an activity aimed at facilitating STIS Statistics Polytechnic students, especially new students, to get to know the Descent community and its activities. Open House was held on December 1, 2021. The activities were filled with presentations about Descent, games, and sharing.
